About

Welcome to High Performance Kitchen!

I'm Vicky, a 20 year old student athlete who can't live without chocolate, cheese, yoga pants, balsamic glaze and a daily chlorine fix.

HPK was born out of my need for a creative outlet to distract me from studying which would fit alongside my swimming career and my love of all things edible.

I have swum since I was a baby as my mother and grandfather were both heavily involved in swimming and coaching so chlorine runs in my blood. I've lived an active, relatively healthy lifestyle all my life and have my family to thank for that (and possibly my mum to blame for my mild chocolate addiction...). I strongly believe in having a balanced diet which includes the odd treat and 3 square meals a day.

I spent my first year of uni boring my tastebuds with limited cooking skills (I literally lived off stir-fry and shepherd's pie).
A year on and slightly more experienced in the kitchen I have decided to start a blog of anecdotes, advice and general opinions on all things sport, student and food.

Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it!
